Actually I have a friend that did wear a bikini snowboarding but that is a whole other story...
I have been teaching group fitness classes for 16 years now and I got to thinking the other day that it's a hell of a lot of classes I've taught. Not hundreds, but thousands.... Literally thousands of jump jacks, plyometric lunges, sprints, shuffles, runs and jumps.
Yet, no matter how many classes I teach, I am still surprised by the number of woman that come to class unarmed for their workout. Whilst striving to get the perfect lean, strong body, they often forget one thing - Adequate boob support! I reiterate my earlier point:
You wouldn't wear a bikini to go snowboarding so why exercise without a sports bra!
As an instructor it is my goal to inspire people to exercise and arm them with as much knowledge as possible to help them reach their goals. As a designer, I want to provide fabulously stylish, functional clothing so they can look amazing whilst they work out. This is part of the reason that I have started to sell Shock Absorber sports bras along side my own collection of activewear.

I will never promote something I do not believe in and I have been wearing this brand of sports bra for years now. My personal recommendation is the B4490 - it offers level 4 impact support and is available in "A" - "HH" cup size. I wear this style when I teach Body Attack or simply when I am doing my own fitness training such as gymnastics or running.
It is super comfy, offers a snug fit and quite frankly is the only sports bra I have ever found that actually fits properly and keeps everything where it should be during all the high impact exercise I do.
Below are a few facts and fallacies that I hope you find interesting.
Have a great weekend.

MYTH: Your ordinary, everyday bra is good enough to use when exercising.
FACT: Tests showed that breast movement is reduced by 38% when wearing an ordinary bra but this rises to as much as 78% with a Shock Absorber sports bra.
MYTH: Female breasts have muscle.
FACT: Female breasts are primarily composed of glandular tissue and fat, held in position by the delicate Cooper's Ligament. Any excessive amount of breast movement or bounce, as happens during exercise, puts strain on these ligaments and can cause them to stretch. In the long term this leads to breast sag.
MYTH: Specific exercises will return your breasts to their former shape.
FACT: Once breasts have dropped because of stretching these ligaments, nothing can naturally restore them to their former position.
MYTH: Running, in itself, always leads to sore and tender breasts.
FACT: Inadequate breast support, coupled with excessive breast movement, is the most likely cause of sore and tender breasts after exercise. In a survey, 80% of GP's questioned agreed that with the specialist support of a sports bra, stress on the ligaments is reduced. This helps delay the long-term sagging of breasts.
MYTH: Small breasts do not need support.
FACT: Even among 34As, tests found that breast movement ranged up to an average of 40mm away from the resting place of the body, which can lead to breast sag.
